Music City Drum Corps will give a free concert on the steps of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center on Wednesday, July 27 at 12:30 p.m. The corps will be performing “The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra,” “Stars and Stripes Forever” and “The Tennessee Waltz.” The concert will last about 25 minutes so grab your lunch to go and come get blown away by the power of over 100 brass and percussion performers.
The corps hopes to raise awareness for “The Masters of the Summer Music Games” drum corps event to be held Friday, July 29 at Vanderbilt University. Music City Drum Corps will join the eight highest placing corps from the 2015 Drum Corps International Championships at Friday’s competition. Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.dci.org or at the gate. Music City will perform first at 7:30 p.m. Other performing corps include the Blue Devils from Concord, California; Carolina Crown from Fort Mill, South Carolina; The Cadets from Allentown, Pennsylvania; Phantom Regiment from Rockford, Illinois; The Cavaliers from Rosemont, Illinois; Bluecoats from Canton, Ohio; Santa Clara Vanguard from Santa Clara, California; and Blue Knights from Denver, Colorado.
